We all experience traumatic events in our life, but how we deal with that, makes us who we are.

The Note

The Note is a story of reflection on a troubled childhood and adolescence told through uncovering repressed memories sparked by a surprise finding. The story identifies factors during developmental years that influence personality, behavior, feelings, and relationships throughout life. The Note is a story of resentment, anger, blame, understanding, and forgiveness as part of the process of moving past traumatic events.

We all need guidance, love, compassion, and empathy from others. The book serves as a prime example of why people that give us their unconditional attention and love, without the expectation of praise or reward, are the best of us. A story that encompasses the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in life, The Note is a story of love and forgiveness.

“Very personable and touching story.”

“The Note was a vulnerable and revealing narrative of devastating and disappointing adult behavior. I'm grateful for the author's willingness to share his story, if for no other reason than to increase awareness and provide an eye-opening opportunity to do better as adults who engage with children, regardless of their role. I deeply felt the pain and burden the author experienced BUT was overjoyed to learn of his resilience DESPITE his suffering. This is a story of trauma and sorrow overcome by determination, perseverance, and character.”

“I found this book to be honest, heartbreaking & eye opening. It shows trauma through the child’s lens while making you realize the impact a strong caring adult can or could have in a variety of situations. It leaves you wanting justice & wanting to be an advocate for all victims.”
